Business concept: class approved piping materials

Situation: certain piping components for maritime applications require approval by a marine class inspection company.

Especially materials for cryogenic applications such as LNG shall be tested at -196°C.

Pipes, fittings, elbows and flanges required can be obtained from established local stock holding companies however these materials will be available with a standard 3.1 certificate only and most often not produced by class approved manufacturers.

Purchasing suitable materials from manufacturers incl. 3.2 certificates can be an option, but typically lead times are too long and quantities too small.

So, what to do in this situation?

Solution: ms con-cept offers a full packing service incl. testing, third party inspection and transport to place of consumption. We are cooperating with highly professional stock holders in Germany, the Netherlands and Italy that operate stocks of piping materials produced by first class manufacturers. Materials required will be tested in an approved testing institute where mechanical characteristics are tested by means of destructive and/or non-destructive tests and witnessed by an appointed engineer. After successful testing and approval by marine class company an inspection report and an approval certificate will be issued.

Which inspection class can be appointed? Bureau Veritas, DNV-GL, Lloyds Register, ABS, Rina
