Power plants mainly use high-performance, heatresistant steels when converting fossil and regenerative fuels to generate heat and electricity.
Pipes and pipe accessories of heat-resistant steels are often required with additional approval by accredited certification institutes.
These special material specification and the associated documentation require cooperation with highly specialized manufacturers.
Chemicals and petrochemicals
In the manufacture of chemical and petrochemical products, liquids are produced and processed which have a high corrosion potential for the piping systems transporting them. For this reason, austenitic and ferritic-austenitic steels are mostly used, so that even highly concentrated acids can be safely and continuously processed.
